Enjoying a glass of wine is a nice and relaxing thing to do. However, in an unfortunate circumstance, you may end up spilling it on your nice furniture. When you get a wine stain, one thing you’ll want to do is make sure to deal with that stain as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to clean up the stain.
Generally, if you’re trying to clean a white wine stain, you won’t have a lot of trouble. This is because it can generally be cleaned with water alone. If that doesn’t work, you can add a little bit of soap.
However, the real challenge is dealing with red wine. If you do end up spilling this, you can turn to using baking soda, talcum powder or club soda.
Firstly, put some of it on the stain and on a cloth. Now you will want to blot the stain with the cloth and baking soda. Make sure to not rub the cloth around as this can just make the problem a little bit worse.
If this doesn’t work, get some white wine and dab it on the cloth, then dab it on the furniture. If this doesn’t work very well, then take some baking soda, and leave it on the stain for about 15-30 minutes.
If one of these options doesn’t work, then it may be a good idea to look into a professional cleaner, or trying one of these upholstery cleaners.
